Call for Articles

Join Us In A New Venture!

I am pleased to announce a new publication—Weddings Elsewhere—with our partners at Apogee Publications. The focus of our new magazine echoes AfWPI’s mission—to connect wedding industry professionals worldwide to prospective couples, making a perfect match!

With more than 2 million weddings a year in the U.S. alone, that’s a lot of destinations and topics to cover. These prospective couples need our help, so we’re looking for articles on such topics as:

  • How to choose a wedding vendor/location;
  • Hidden wedding destinations;
  • Cruise weddings;
  • Pros and cons of using wedding planners & destination wedding planners;
  • How to take the best wedding photos ever;
  • Legal requirements for non-U.S.-based weddings;
  • Travel tips for wedding guests;
  • Colonial/historical wedding locations;
  • Adventure wedding ideas;
  • Beach/tropical weddings;
  • How to decide on the right wedding reception;
  • Photos, photos, photos!

Other ideas for an article? We welcome them!

Feature articles can vary in length from 700 to 2,000 words. We encourage you to submit high-resolution photographs to illustrate your story, and don’t forget to include a short bio—1-2 sentences about you—the author! But remember, articles must be generic in nature and may not promote your particular location or company. That recognition will come with your byline.

So, share your knowledge, experience, and expertise with our prospective brides and grooms by writing for Weddings Elsewhere. Email your article as a Word document and send it to our Editor, Nicole Millman-Falk at Nicole@apogeepublications.com, or call her at 201.652.1687.

Weddings Elsewhere also offers a fabulous way to reach this enormous market with your advertising. Our advertising sales manager is Kathleen Pishotta; Kathleen@ apogeepublications.com; 888.371.4933. Apogee Publications is also working with AfWPI on our membership directory—Before Your Vows—to be published twice a year.

Sincerely,

Richard Markel
